Brainspotting

  • Brainspotting is a gentle therapy approach that helps people work through emotional pain, stress, and past experiences that may still feel stuck. It’s based on the idea that where we look can affect how the brain processes emotions.

Our brains naturally know how to heal and adapt. By focusing on a specific point in your visual field—called a brainspot—while noticing your thoughts, feelings, or body sensations, the brain can begin to reorganize how difficult experiences are stored. Over time, this can reduce emotional distress and support lasting healing.

  • In a session, your therapist helps you find a spot with your eyes that feels connected to what you’re experiencing. While gently holding your gaze there, your brain is given space to process at its own pace.

You don’t need to have the right words or explain everything. Much of the work happens quietly, from the inside.

  • Brainspotting aims to help you move through unresolved experiences, feel more regulated, and create room for growth and change.

  • People often notice:

    • Feeling less overwhelmed by past experiences

    • Greater emotional balance

    • Deeper self-awareness

    • A sense of relief or ease
